Spectra Musica is an auditioned chamber choir of 24 singers under Musical Director, Peter Leech, based in Wincanton, Somerset. We perform three times a year throughout the South West of England. At our heart is a repertoire which spans six centuries and embraces all styles of music including music by Palestrina, Monteverdi, Byrd, Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Elgar, Fauré, Vaughan Williams, Shearing, Seiber, Bernstein, Gershwin, Lloyd Webber, Chilcott and Leech.
Spectra Musica will be singing ’ Motets, Madrigals and More’ at St Luke and St Teresa’s Church, Wincanton on 17th March, in another lively concert led by their very talented Musical Director, Peter Leech. The group’s programmes are always a colourful mix of words and music from many eras and styles. Vautor and Bassani were 17th century composers, and Brahms 19th century, Villette, Lloyd Webber and Seiber 20th century, all adding to the evening’s variety.
The versatile pianist Caroline D’Cruz will also feature in the programme as well as accompanying the group.
Tickets, priced £12, are available from 01963 350160, from firstname.lastname@example.org or on the door, for the concert starting at 7.30pm.
